1.) Beaded Indian Jacket catalogue number 995.23.07 Made of deerhide and lined with white and black cloth. Beadwork on the shoulders and the facing, of a floral decoration. There are 2 breastpockets and the pockets, shoulders and sleeves are fringed. Black straps on the inside of the front lapels used to close it. This jacket was obtained from the Northwest Rebellion in Saskatchewan in 1885. Condition like new.

2.) Beaded vest of a Blackfoot Chief, Catalogue number 986.32.1. The front is of solid beadwork, the background beads are white with a floral design in green, red, blue and pink beads. The back of the vest is covered in rows of hanging strings of red, blue and yellow beads. Mid to late 19th century. Condition like new.


These two items
are part of a larger collection of native artifacts
donated to the museum.
